Diano Marina - with its distinctive beaches - has been encouraging tourism since the 1950s. An in 2000, it had a huge boost. The lovely Via Aurelia coastal street also runs through Diano Marina, among other areas. If one crosses this road at the seaside promenade, one will reach the Palazzo Del Parco where the municipal museum is located. The museum is worthwhile touring when you pay a beautiful visit. Archaeological findings from pre-historic and Roman Age, as well as interesting mementoes from the Napoleonic era and from the Risorgimento are found there.
The architectural style of the late 19th and 20th centuries dominates the small town of Diano Marina. The St. Antonio Abate church, which was built in 1862, derives its charm from the marble altars, which, in addition to the frescos, originate from the neoclassical church of the 17th century. Apart from paintings and other archeological pieces from the Pre-Roman epoch and the Roman Age, there are also objects from the Renaissance and the Napoleonic times there.

Eating and drinking
One can begin one’s day with a delicious breakfast at Café del Mar and watch the colorful hustle and bustle in Diano Marina. This café in Via Genova can also be recommended for a cocktail in the evening.
Enjoy your Aperitivo in the comfortable wine bar "Tempio di Vino" in the middle of Diano Marina’s pedestrian zone. You should be prepared for home-made Focaccia and pizzas, good wine and a relaxed atmosphere. The "Marabotto" restaurant is also popular for those who want to have an Aperitivo with delicious finger food and pies. After arousing your appetite, you should absolutely visit one of the restaurants serving customary cuisine. One such restaurant which can be recommended is "Golosamente", where you will be served Ligurian delicacies. The restaurant is located in Via XX Settembre 34, not far from the sea.
You will get delicious pasta dishes in the "Macaroni" Spaghetteria (Via Verdi 2) – even for great hunger!
One can find a delicious variety of ice cream at the “Mr. Big Gelateria” Ice-Cream Parlor in Via Genova 20, at the town center of Diano Marina. One can also enjoy home-made Italian ice-cream in “Gelateria San Pietro" in Via Cavour 5.
What to do
Sandy beaches in Diano Marina
Located right in the middle of the Gulf of Diano, which stretches from Cervo to Capo Berta, is the popular coastal town of Diano Marina. This locality belongs to the province of Imperia and stretches over an area of 6 sq. km. directly along the Mediterranean Sea.
A multitude of magnificent sandy beaches can be found there. You can either spend your time idling comfortably on approx. 4 kilometers of sandy beach or you can take part in a beach volleyball match and stretch yourself to the limit.
The flat sandy beaches in Diano Marina are particularly well suited for families with children. Whether it is building sand castles, splashing around in water or playing on a sports ground directly by the sea – children can have a great experience there. You can find both free (Spiaggia Libera) and paying (Bagni) sandy beaches in Diano Marina. “Bagni Elena” is one of the beautiful sandy beaches. It is located in Viale Torino 5. During pre-season you can get discounts for sun couches there too.
One can also relax very well in the beautiful “Pantarei” facility in Vico del Fico. You will find a swimming pool and also a whirlpool with a view of the sea there. The numerous sun couches beckon one to have a sunbath. Refreshments are also well-catered for. And whoever still has the urge to jump into the sea, can do so via the main entrance of the facility.
Mountain bikers should absolutely not miss the MTB – track which runs very closey by the sea. You should expect to experience some the most exciting paths in lovely surroundings!
When you take a ride on the small train called “Trenino” you will get to know the Gulf of Diano well. Just lean back and enjoy the view over the wonderful landscape. Definitely a beautiful experience for the kids too.

"Bella Italia!" The wonderfully mild climate ia as a result of the sea and the mountains. Many vacationers come back to Diano Marina every year just to take advantage of this climate. The small port in Diano is located directly at the center of town and offers "accommodation" for the local leisure boat drivers as well as those who are just passing through.
A ship docks at the most important places in the BlumenRiviera and takes passengers for whale-watching. It is an unforgettable experience for the children in particular to watch whales and dolphins from such close proximity. During your stay in Diano Marina we recommend that you visit the market which takes place every Tuesday morning. Apart from Italian fashion items, you will also find souvenirs for your loved ones at home. The shops in the pedestrian zone are an attraction for one to go window-shopping not only during daytime. During peak season the shops remain open even in the evenings.

Would you like to rummage through the shops, to take a stroll along the promenade or to eat another ice-cream? The day is not yet over in Diano Marina when the sun goes down. After an eventful day you can let the warm evening breeze blow gently against your nose in this small but busy coastal resort – be it during a walk along the promenade or while having one round comfortably in one of the many bars and restaurants.
