Travel Information

There is a shuttle bus which travels between the Nizza and the Genova airports and passes all the major towns of the coast between the two Airports. There is also a public transport bus which can sometimes take you further if you have to travel short distances in the next mountain village.

Smaller cars with a lot of ground clearance facilitate excursions to the mountainous hinterland, so as to survive the journeys to delicious restaurants, tourist attractions and great hiking trails free of damage. Mountain roads generally applly to motorists: The uphill vehicle has the right of way. Motorists must take special care of riders who sometimes like to squeeze simultaneously past one to the left or the right.

We recommend a rental car from the airport to your holiday destination. Almost all major German car rental companies have rental locations in Nice and Genoa. It is always advisable when booking a flight, where possible to make reservations for a rental car or book one. This guarantees on the one hand, the availability of the car (and if in doubt, get a "better" car for the same price), besides it is usually cheaper. Also remember that in Italy a small car is better than a bigger one, because of the partial narrow streets.

To reach Liguria as fast as possible, chose the airports nearby: Nice or Genoa (about one hour's drive), Milan (about 2.5 hours' drive) or Bergamo (about 3 hours' drive).
