You will be offered only the freshest, finest produce, largely cultivated by the locals. The "Salone del Gusto", which takes place in Turin during the sign of the snail has, for instance, made "Slow Food" its motto. You can nibble at a variety of dishes on different streets of a former factory, e.g. the sweets street, the sausage street or the cheese street, and this will help you to understand just how this event places such a high value on pleasing even the most discriminating palate.

You should generally try the “Pesto alla Genovese" which is renowned in this region, but even the "Acciughe al verde" anchovies in a green marinade, "Risotto bianco e nero", two coloured Risotto with asparagus, or "Arrosto di Vitello alla nocciole" roast veal with hazelnuts will leave you very satisfied
You can already follow the unmistakable Ligurian style in the cafés. These elegant rooms have splendid wood-panelled walls, protruding marble bars, mirror walls, interesting glass cabinets and attractive chandeliers. At one time writers used to meet and debate in such cafés; even Nietzsche allegedly frequented the café houses. Today, unfortunately, only a handful of these "caffées" exist, where you can let yourself be spoiled with bicerin, tortini di albicoche or torta di nocciole.
