Description
The Villetta ai Castelli Grande lies in the heart of Diano Marina. The Centre of Diano Marina, the shops and the seaside, are within a few minutes walking distance. The conveniently and comfortably furnished holiday rental offers ample room for five people with its double bedroom with king sized bed and small daybed, its breakfast kitchen with daybed and its bathroom. You can relax on the cool terrace and enjoy the smell of the attractive wisterias.

On the plain that is crossed by the San Pietro river, an area showing signs of Iron Age settlement, there once stood "Lucus Bormani", the sacred wood dedicated to the water god Borman, which in Roman times became an important resting place along the Via Julia Augusta. Saracen incursions in the later Middle Ages forced the inhabitants to take to the highlands, but from the thirteenth century onwards Diano expanded and became especially important as a commercial centre for the sea trading of olive oil.
After the town was destroyed by an earthquake in 1887, reconstruction work gave Diano an appearance typical of a nineteenth-century Riviera town. The parish church of Sant'Antonio Abate on the Via Aurelia dates from 1862: the marble altars date from the seventeenth century and are situated in the neo-classical interior near to frescoes and paintings from the Genoese school, including the "Death of Saint Joseph" by Luca Cambiaso. The civic museum tells the story of Diano Marino through the centuries and preserves archaeological exhibits from pre-Roman and Roman times (including amphorae and vases from a ship that sank off the coast) and objects from the Napoleonic era and the Risorgimento.
Since Diano was rebuilt, tourism has been the undisputed vocation of a town which offers sandy beaches surrounded by Mediterranean maquis. With its tourist harbour and facilities and the opportunity to practise a variety of sports (from traditional diving to go-karting, bowling and minigolf), Diano Marina is the heart of the Gulf. If you wish, you can take a boat that passes by the most important locations along the Riviera dei Fiori and takes you to do some whale-watching off the coast.
A great event is the is a marvellous display of flowers during the solemn time of Corpus Domini (between May and June): the streets of the town are covered with flowers arranged in special patterns.

Man kann sich im Hafen ein motorisiertes Schlauchboot mieten (ohne Bootsführerschein) und damit ein Stück an der Küste entlang fahren und Angeln. Das war ein echtes Highlight für unsere Kinder. Außerdem ist man recht schnell in Monaco und an der Côte d'Azur.

Whalewatching, Abfahrt Imperia, Ristorante al Porto (beim Hafen) - preis/leistung passt, unbedingt Cervo ansehen!!, Andora ist keinen Besuch wert, Monte Carlo und San Remo auch einen Besuch wert, Taverna Napoli - in Fuzo - leckere Pizzas die Übergabe des Objektes könnte professioneller gemacht werden, war aber ok. Vielen Dank für die rasche Neulieferung der neuen Kaffeemaschine, auch weil es Sonntag war

San Remo als Tagesausflug es war ein gelungener Urlaub, wir alle (inkl. Hund) waren sehr zufrieden!

Muggenpluggen in huis en brandspiraaltjes op balkon. Veel lekker ijs eten! En genieten van het fijne klimaat. De afhandeling en contact is zeer helder en keurig verlopen.

Das mit der Verlängerung um 2 Tage unseres Auffenthalts hat problemlos geklappt und uns halbwegs gerettet. Wir bekamen vom ADAC einen Mietwagen und konnten dann mit 2-tätiger Verspätung nach hause. Ihre telefonische Mithilfe war Klasse. Wir fühlten uns gut betreut.

Der Sonnenschirm war leicht defekt, ansonsten alles wunderschön. Die kleine Einkaufsmeile in Diano Marina, Imperia, Monaco war nicht weit weg - schön Wir werden wieder kommen - es war sehr schön und wir fühlten uns auch mit kleinen Problemen nicht im Stich gelassen.

On mange très bien à la Taverna di Napoli, petit restaurant familial au personnel très sympathique et pratiquant des prix abordable. L'impossibilité de joindre la personne qui était sur place à contribuée à rendre la situation plus désagréable et plus longtemps. Si on avait pu la joindre tout aurait été beaucoup plus simple.

Garten kark, kein Grün, nur Sand / Erde und Steine. Konnte man sich nicht aufhalten, es gab sowieso keine Gartenliegen o.Ä. Balkon war okay.

Alles ist in Ordnung. Lidl in Imperia für Einkaufen und Alassio für Ausflugen und Belustigung. Vielleicht ist, dass wir nochmall dises Jahr in erste Woche vom September nach Diano Marina reisen. Natürlich diesfalls wir an Sie wenden.
