The Via Lattea includes the villages of Sauze d’Oulx, Beaulard, Cesana, Claviere, San Sicario and Sestriere. They are Turin's traditional winter sports resorts. With 400 kilometres of slopes, 92 chair lifts and cable cars and around 900 snow cannons, this is one of Europe's largest skiing areas. The XXth Winter Olympics were held here in 2006.
