Liguria is a narrow strip of land that is bordered on the one side by the sea and on the other by the Alps and the Appenines.

The coast with its numerous bays stretches for about 450 kilometers and along its entire length there are wonderful sandy beaches as well as tranquil pebble coves.


With its combination of mountains and sea Liguria offers not only fantastic beaches with numerous opportunities for all kinds of sports but also a hinterland with an enormous choice of places to see. From natural wonders such as the Grotto of Toirano to places of great cultural and historical importance. Despite the influx of tourists a large number of these places have retained their medieval charm and superb historical centres.


The cuisine of this area is still very traditional and offers a large variety of specialities. These range from homemade pesto to a variety of sea food specialities and game. In many areas the landscape is untouched and offers cyclists and hikers excellent routes and superb views.
