The rooms of the Palazzo del Principe offer space for this museum. Here you will find the first collection in Italy that is devoted to the production of advertising art, comprised of about 150 works. The original archive was procured with by Barabino & Graeve, und was later expanded through purchases and gifts of original material. The archive documents the Italian as well as European production markets from about the end of the 19th century through till the 1970’s. The tour of the museum is designed to bring one closer to understanding the development of advertising.

The collection is made up of extensive bibliographic and archival division, as well as in collections of costumes, scene sketches and a vast array of other material from different shows. One of which being a puppet theater from the 18th century, complete with stage and background.

In the heart of the old harbor (Porto Antico) you will find the original cotton storage halls(Magazzini del Cotone). This was converted to house the new exhibition hall, which thanks also to the reconstruction of the surrounding buildings (home of a 17th century merchant, a historical alleyway from the 19th century, a dock, the side of a ocean liner and more), offers visitors a taste of the “old sea”. The museum has original pieces from galleons from the time of the Genoa Republic.

The museum was opened in February of 1996. The main attraction is the collection of Angelo Cenderelli. More than 70 puppets, 100 scripts and a plethora of costumes and stage props.

| This museum offers an overview of the activities of lace making in Rapallo. The museum allows the visitor to follow the history of lace making throughout this region. The municipality recently acquired five more rooms to showcase Haute-Couture dresses and a valuable communion furnishing. There is also a newe multimedia system which gives information about the collections in the museum.

| This museum is housed in an old train wagon. It takes you on a journey through sound, with objects ranging from pianolas, grammaphones through to the first sound recording machines, showing you everything leading up to the automatic recording and playback of sound/song. With help from records, videos, photos and thousands of memos and handwritten notes, it will delight all fans of modern music production.

| The exhibition is located in an oratorio, in a side building of the church S. Andrea. Its objective is to document everything which has something to do with the local rural culture, the crafts and sea faring. It also has an impressive exhibition of the ligurian dialect. The whole collection is computer catalogued.

Civic Museum Amedeo Lia (Museo Civico Amedeo Lia)

| This is the youngest and possibly most famous ligurian museum, and quite possibly the elaborate and rich of the country. The nick name “the little Louvre” has stuck, and Frederico Zeri has claimed it to be one the most important private collections in Europe.
It contains impressive collections of antique, midieval and modern art, and was opened in November 1996 in a ex church and convent of the Pauline monks of the 17th century. Amedeo Lia collected painting for almost 50 years before giving it to the municipality of La Spezia himself.
The collection is comprised of paintings from the 13th to the 18th century, ivory and silver objects from the middle ages and renaissance, and of objects from ceramic, glass and crystal from different epochs, as well as other interesting codes and written material.

Museum of Glass and Glassblowing (Museo del Vetro e dell’Arte Vetraria)

| Here you will find over 2000 objects on display, ranging from art to object of daily use, as well as tools for glass blowing. Most of it coming from the glass production in Altare.
The museum also has a specialized library, and is managed by the Institue for Glass and Glassblowing.
